Wheaton Precious Metals

ESG reporting: Leading by example

Wheaton Precious Metals, similar to a bank, funds mining companies. While they themselves don’t have significant physical outputs, their partners do, and these have a big environmental impact. The issue was how to show that Wheaton’s commitment to good financial performance, sustainability, governance, and the environment could change their partners’ behaviour.

Optimized for print and online

As the reports are transitioning to be viewed mostly online, we need to develop a format that presents the information in an easily readable, navigable, and printable manner. Many factors influence the page design and flow of the document – some are mechanical, others are content-driven.

Wheaton Previous Metal Annual Report Cover

Stunning cover design

The cover of the printed version was made of metallic paper that required two layers of opaque white before the imagery was printed on top. The result is truly stunning and has an appealing precious metal look.

The main purpose of such a report is to communicate how your organization is managing its ESG performance to external stakeholders.

New flexible format

For optimal monitor viewing, the document has a horizontal format with embedded hyperlinks for easy navigation. In the printed version, the navigation crumb is removed. Images are replaced with high-resolution versions, colour-balanced, and page layouts are adjusted for printing.
