The activities of mining companies have the potential to leave a significant footprint. Teck recognizes this and they have chosen to embrace GRI’s stringent “G3 Guidelines” which dictate the manner in which sustainability issues are documented. Red Rocket extended the annual report theme and created, “This is Our Future.” Despite significant detail, the document is organized so that it is engaging to read. Red Rocket used short stories that spotlight operations’ activities supported by appealing photography to draw the reader into the report. A new printing technique (UV) delivered excellent reproduction results on the recycled paper. The report is one of 20 finalists for the CERES-ACCA North American reporting awards – the most acclaimed award for sustainability reporting content.
