The BC HR Task Force: Exploration, Mining, Stone, Sand & Gravel (BC Task Force) was formed in 2007 to identify the labor shortage facing the industry in BC. When its mission was expanded to include planning, developing and implementing pilot programs, it also needed a website to reach out to the province to engage with a wide variety of audience groups.
Having extensive knowledge of the challenges faced when communicating about the many aspects of the mining industry Red Rocket Creative Strategies was well placed to provide the Task Force with a website that would appeal to all audience groups.
The creative use of a parallax carousel on the home page showcases the diversity of the industry with strong images and informative copy. Showing a mix of work and leisure images the site seeks to share the benefits of working in the industry outside of just career opportunities. Profile stories of various industry professionals are brought forward with light boxes and site wide links to further information including jobs boards, education information and events.
The intuitive Drupal Content Management System provides the client with a quick and simple way to add content regularly and ensure users are given access to up to date information and a solid resource to engage regularly with the industry and its many opportunities.
