The New Standard in Sustainable Forestry
Most of us the recognize the letters “CSA”—the Canadian Standards Association is renowned for their international work in developing standards for the protection of our health and safety. But did you know of their leadership in sustainable forestry? The CSA’s Sustainable Forest Management certification is the new standard in sustainable forest management – it’s a buyer’s assurance that CSA certified wood products have been sustainably grown and produced. CSA SFM certification represents more forest lands than any other sustainable forestry standard.

Recently, the CSA selected Red Rocket for the task of refreshing their brand, and unifying the SFM messaging across their many touchpoints. First, we delivered a new tag line, “Your assurance of Canada’s highest standards” a strong and cohesive statement that defines their integrity. Then we established brand guidelines for all SFM communications, using illustrated images of leaves and a distinctive photographic style, combined with a fresh, optimistic colour palette. The image selection helps convey the attributes of sustainability, bio-diversity, product utility and conservation for future generations.

The organization’s website was restructured to be more visually dynamic and easier to navigate. Of course, we integrated the new look throughout. A newsletter feature was added, with a template that allows the CSA to maintain brand consistency while allowing them the flexibility they need to create their own content and publish the newsletters themselves.

The new brand standard has been applied to a series of inviting and informational trade show display structures. We also conceived and developed series of ads featuring the headline: “Sustainable forests sustain us all,” featuring people-centric images that emphasize the importance of sustainability for future generations. These creative solutions are all designed to be strikingly different than the status-quo style of trade ads and trade show booths.

New CSA literature represents the rebranding well: the brochure blends
practical information with effective photography to deliver a concise,
impactful message. And the presentation folder is a smart, sustainable
design, with four “shingled”, colour-coded insert sheets that tuck in
neatly, so the client can update only the necessary portions of the
informational materials without having to reprint an entire document.

This project is another creative concept from the fertile minds at Red Rocket Creative Strategies. If you need your corporate image overhauled, or simply spruced up, give us a call. We’ll take you there.
