Skate Canada is a country wide organization dedicated to the development of personal excellence through participation in skating. They work closely with amateur and professional skaters, trainers and all those involved and passionate about the sport.
The Brief
The BC/Yukon Division of Skate Canada needed a new website, re-architected for usability, with the ability to handle multiple information streams from numerous contributors. They wanted a fresh new design to reflect the elegance and beauty of the sport, and they needed the technical backbone to allow skate videos to be streamed live online. At the same time, the website had to maintain established Skate Canada brand guidelines and apply the existing “Cool. Creative. Canadian.” theme.
The Solution
The new website answers all the client’s needs for aesthetics, ease of navigation, maintainability and multimedia power. Its video-streaming is smooth and fast. The site allows almost unlimited PDF file uploads from the organization’s many contributors, and is easy to maintain and update. Its popular Calendar feature allows Skate Canada to announce upcoming events easily and keep their broad audience informed. The new website proved to be an immediate hit, seeing a massive increase in traffic from skate enthusiasts around the world.
